Transforming Self-Payment Distribution: Sending Money with Just Three Taps

Overview

In the ever-evolving landscape of financial transactions, efficiency is paramount. The disbursement process for Suppliers (Owner App Users) and Admin Panel Users(Internal Panel) currently stands as a manual and time-consuming endeavor. Recognizing the need for a more streamlined approach, our Payment Disbursement project aims to empower Owner App Users and Admin Panel Users alike, revolutionizing the way payments are disbursed.

Problem Statement

The existing disbursement process for both Owner App Users and Admin Panel Users is marred by manual interventions, leading to inefficiencies and prolonged processing times. This not only hampers productivity but also introduces the potential for errors and delays in financial transactions.

Suppliers experience a lack of transparency, making it challenging to track and reconcile disbursements promptly.

This complexity in the disbursement process not only diminishes user satisfaction but also hampers the agility and autonomy of our suppliers in managing their financial transactions.

Waiting on external entities for disbursement not only prolongs the processing time but also subjects our operations to the varying timelines and potential bottlenecks of these third-party services. The lack of control hampers our ability to provide timely disbursements, impacting user satisfaction and the overall reliability of our disbursement processes.

Goals

  1. Streamline the disbursement process by eliminating 3-4 manual steps, significantly reducing the time required for other relevant teams.
  2. Minimize human intervention which will enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial transactions. This not only mitigates the risk of errors but also fosters a more secure and trustworthy disbursement system.
  3. We aspire to empower our Owner App Users by providing them with a user-friendly, direct means of transferring funds. This strategic move aims to attract and retain users, positioning the Owner App as a go-to platform for efficient and convenient financial transactions.

Communication with MFS Companies:

In our drive to streamline disbursement processes, we are actively pursuing strategic partnerships with leading Mobile Financial Services (MFS) companies. Our approach prioritizes open communication channels, customization for unique requirements, robust API integration, and a commitment to a user-centric experience.

By ensuring continuous testing, and quality assurance, and embracing an agile development methodology, we aim to forge seamless collaborations. This approach not only adheres to industry standards but also exceeds user expectations, setting new benchmarks in the realm of payment disbursement.

Product Requirement:

  • Wallet Disbursement: Owner App users should be able to disburse money from their Apni Paben wallet of TL Transport.
  • MFS Account Selection: Owner App users should be able to select any of their desired MFS accounts (such as Bkash or Nagad) for the disbursement process.
  • Money Transfer: Once an MFS account is selected, the money should be automatically deducted from the Owner App user's wallet and transferred to the selected MFS account.
  • Transaction History: Owner App users should be able to view their transaction history, including the date, time, amount, and MFS account details of the disbursed amount.
  • Users can securely store a portion of their funds within the Owner App, allowing them to manage and retain control over their remaining amounts safely.

User Flow

Owner app payment disbursement: User Flow

Design Flow

1. Pin set

Owner app payment disbursement: 1. Pin set

Upon first opening the app, a user sets a 4-digit PIN, verified through a one-time password (OTP) sent via SMS on their account mobile number. Successful OTP validation confirms the PIN, granting app access. In case of OTP issues, options to retry or request a new OTP are available. The process ensures secure first-time user access.

2. Withdrawal first-time journey

Owner app payment disbursement: 2. Withdrawal first-time journey

For the "Withdrawal First-Time Journey":

In this flow, a user selects their preferred Mobile Financial Service (MFS) account for the first-time withdrawal process. They then input the withdrawal amount and the account number to which the funds will be transferred. The user has the option to save this account number for future transactions. After entering their PIN, the amount is transferred to the chosen MFS account. If the entered phone number isn't linked to the specified MFS account, the process will display an error, indicating the mismatch. This flow streamlines the withdrawal process for first-time users, ensuring convenience and security.

3. The Happy Path

Owner app payment disbursement: 3. The Happy Path

For the "Withdrawal for Saved Numbers":

This streamlined process begins when a user opts to withdraw funds using a previously saved account number. The user simply selects the saved account from the list, eliminating the need to re-enter account details. Next, the user inputs the desired withdrawal amount. The final step involves entering their PIN to authenticate and approve the transaction. This efficient flow facilitates quick and secure withdrawals for users who have saved their account details, enhancing the overall user experience.

3. Sending money to others

4. Unexpected Error

Owner app payment disbursement: 4. Unexpected Error

Expected Errors:

  • Restriction on Amount of Transaction per day
  • Restriction on Amount of Transaction at a time
  • Cannot exceed Owner Gets Balance
  • Cannot enter Wrong PIN 3 times
  • Multiple Device Error

UAT

The Payment Disbursement project undergoes User Acceptance Testing (UAT), involving representatives from relevant teams. Supply Team receives training to engage directly with suppliers and Owner App Users. The CX Team is integrated for full-time user support. The Accounts Team collaborates on understanding the process, and post-UAT, decisions on accounting entries and control measures are implemented. This ensures a robust system, user satisfaction, and accountability in financial processes for a successful rollout.
